Technical Performance Centres

What Is a Technical Performance Centre?

The programme is designed to provide the following:

  • Develop confidence through midfield and final thirds to beat an opponent
  • Improve knowledge, speed, technique and tactics to defend in 1 v 1 situations
  • Develop attacking within 1 v 1’s, creativity and positivity
  • Develop new skills and tools to be effective in 1 v 1
  • Improve decision making within 1 v 1 and learn to see pictures easier

Programmes incorporate all the above principles but are tailored more specifically to the ability of both groups which we therefore feel fast-tracks individual player development.

The sessions are offered to young players that have potential, a desire to learn and are highly coachable. The supplementary coaching model will be aligned with current playing/training commitments and is not designed to compete with team training.

More About the TPC…

Our TPC programme was launched in 2018 with a vision to provide the very best learning environments for U7 – U10 footballers.

Our USP focuses on the individual learner through the early stages of development to increase confidence, game intelligence and support the transitions. Children need to grasp the skill & technical fundamentals, and combine with movement literacy to enable them to successfully apply to a 7v5 or 7v7 game.

The model was introduced by Ultimate Coaching & Ultimate Football Academy founder Scott Rimmer (UEFA B Licence) and has since been developed by the team to support the beginner, Intermediate and technically advanced footballers. Scott learnt his craft in the United States and then at Chelsea FC where he spent 10 years supporting academy, development and Talent ID programmes.  Scott designed a similar programme bespoke for European Hotels & resorts in partnership with Ex England & Chelsea player Graeme Le Saux for 5 seasons.

The TPC programme maintains a technical emphasis, whilst developing 1v1 principles in and out of possession. The structure of the model allows the players to be brave and creative as they apply principles within small sided game scenarios (2v2/3v3).

With inclusion of skill tests we are able to measure performance and set individual learning goals.

The sessions encourage children to be positive in possession, and assertive within defensive scenarios.

The programme provides and guarantees the following:

  • Develop confidence to help beat opponents
  • Improve knowledge, speed, technique and principles needed to defend in 1 v 1 situations
  • Develop attacking principles within 1 v 1’s including creativity and problem solving
  • Develop new skills and tools to be effective in 1 v 1 scenarios
  • Improve decision making within 1 v 1 and learn to see pictures easier
  • Evaluation, feedback and goal setting

Talent Identification

We work closely with grassroots teams and school environments in identifying suitable players that possess the technical proficiency and the correct mentality and would therefore benefit from professional football coaching.

Each child that is identified and selected is offered a complimentary session to ensure he/she meets demonstrates the key elements through technical practices, opposed games and small sided game scenarios.

‘The academy set up at Ultimate Football Academy is of the highest level, I cannot praise the set up enough. My son has improved ten-fold in the time he has been involved with the academy programme. The staff go above and beyond to help in any way possible. I would strongly recommend to anyone looking for their child to improve and develop as a young footballer!’
